Director of Creative Content Development at Verizon Media

As a director and part of the EMEA leadership team at Riot Games, I am the portfolio manager for Valorant, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, 2XKO, and Arcane (and future games).  

I manage the brand management/marketing team in EMEA who are essential to product publishing, overseeing the full lifecycle of Riot’s products for the region, from go-to-market planning and launch, through post-launch support and sustainment. The team consists of Product Leads for each game and we are the point-of-contact between the global cross disciplinary game leadership teams and country marketing teams across EMEA. 

The team is dedicated to providing the best experience possible for players in the region and ensures all components necessary to publish Riot’s products in the region in a way that inspires and delights players.

I identify opportunities for growth for brand and product awareness. love, and engagement growth — especially in evolving industries, with a specialty in gaming/esports/streaming and internet culture and social media. I then bring the right people across the department and company, build the blueprint, then make it happen.

I am also a lead on brand and creator partnerships that span Fortune 500 partners to Twitch and TikTok creators and lead gaming and internet culture efforts to diversify and expand our consumer base. This includes gaming and streamer/creator partnerships and programs as well as large scale campaigns and events.

While I am located in London, my teams and focus are all US based/global.

As a senior director, I was directly involved in all aspects of Quartz's journalism and operations across politics, business, culture, lifestyle, and tech and senior directing and overseeing EMEA.

This includes overseeing and managing coverage across major beats/obsessions across UK, EMEA and offices in APAC and coordinate across the US, on a daily basis. I help plan coverage in the short and long term across news as well as long term feature development with writers and editors daily.

Develop partnership opportunities and events with marketing and sales.

Editor and acted as an extra and communicator to also regularly write news, features, and essays about geo-politics, finance, culture, and diversity. 

Direct coordination and strategy with audience development and the growth team for opportunities to help identify and gain better reach for articles across social media and the web. Since joining I have brought on new platforms that have helped in traffic as well as new ways and timings to approach stories that have pushed traffic up to new records by the end of 2017.

I supervise and edit the production of daily email newsletters (Daily Brief) and our news-app, as well as contribute to ideas and strategy and writing for the Obsessions Email.

I also continue to do a lot of extra media work discuss finance, politics, culture, and diversity across radio and TV, including regular appearances on the BBC's The Briefing and TALKRadio. I have also made appearances across other radio and TV channels talking about everything from Brexit, body shaming, the Brit Awards, as well as diversity in the workplace, communities and propaganda, as well as gun control. 

Help greaten brand awareness and champion Quartz's journalism at conferences and events, through speeches, hosting, panel moderation and even tours. I also give seminars, including that at the Oxford University / Reuters Institute for Journalism.
