Levy Gerzberg is an Israeli-American businessman, inventor, and philanthropist, currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Foundation since January 2017. He is also the President of the Liora and Levy Gerzberg Family Foundation, which supports healthcare and educational initiatives, and previously co-founded and led Zoran Corporation, a pioneer in system-on-a-chip (SoC) technology for consumer electronics, from 1981 to 2011.124
Gerzberg was born in Israel in 1945 and holds dual citizenship in Israel and the United States. He earned his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Medical Electronics from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, followed by a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he specialized in microelectronics and bioengineering.124 He is credited with holding 10 U.S. patents and has authored over 50 technical papers.4
Under his leadership, Zoran Corporation developed technologies that powered digital cameras, DVD players, HDTVs, and other consumer electronics. The company was eventually acquired by CSR in 2011, which was later purchased by Qualcomm.12 Beyond his business accomplishments, Gerzberg is actively involved in philanthropy through initiatives like charity swims to raise funds for children with rare diseases.3
