Leodan Vega Izaguirre is the Subdirector of the Centro de Informática Médica (CESIM) at the Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas (UCI) in Cuba.12 He is also an Assistant Professor at the university.2 In his role, Vega Izaguirre has been involved in evaluating and presenting the progress of collaborative projects between UCI and BioCubaFarma, particularly focusing on the development and implementation of medical informatics systems.1 He has specifically highlighted the strategic importance of generalizing the XAVIA SIDEC system, an application for managing clinical trials developed at CESIM.13
