Leo Shveyd is the owner of Advanced Wellness (AW), a personalized training and sports performance gym located in San Francisco. With a background in athletics, especially as a former high school and college quarterback, Leo discovered the importance of health and wellness in achieving elite athletic performance after being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 18.
Leo has a passion for helping individuals, ranging from youth to professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts, achieve their sports, fitness, strength, and performance goals. Through Advanced Wellness, he offers personalized training programs, customized strength and conditioning/performance plans, and wellness coaching that includes nutrition guidance.
Transitioning from a career in law to pursue his true calling, Leo has dedicated himself to making people better through strength, conditioning, and sports performance training. He holds several certifications including CSCS, Strong First Level I Kettlebell Instructor, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, DNS Sport Level III, FRC, ELDOA, and FMS Level II trainer.
Leo's personal journey and experiences have shaped his mission to share his knowledge and strategies to help clients reach their full potential. His goal is to provide the same level of care and expertise in training that he would want for his younger self, brimming with potential.
Leo's own encounter with type I diabetes during his college football years highlighted to him the crucial link between health and performance. He advocates for a holistic approach to performance that not only enhances outcomes but also enriches lives. His WHY is rooted in preventing others from repeating his past mistakes and guiding them towards a more efficient and successful path.
Leo Shveyd holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and has also studied at Laney College. As the owner of Advanced Wellness, he remains committed to helping individuals unleash their full potential and live better lives through optimal training and performance strategies.
