Lena Krause is a dedicated professional with a background in Theatre Arts Management, French language education, and Arabic translation.
Lena holds a Master of Arts in Teaching French as a Second or Foreign Language from North Park University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre/Theatre Arts Management from Northwestern University.
Her passion for promoting Moroccan Arabic education is evident through her roles as an Arabic and French Teacher at Beacon Academy and as the Founder and Instructor at derrej m3aya (Speak Darija with Me!).
With a teaching philosophy that integrates elements of IB, Montessori, and experiential education, Lena focuses on creating a task-based, communicative classroom environment.
Her professional journey includes diverse experiences such as being a Moroccan Darija Translator at Playaling, a Stage Manager at Chicago Humanities Festival, and an English Language Teaching Assistant in France through the TAPIF program.
Lena's commitment to educational partnerships between the US and Morocco is highlighted by her work as a Press Relations Assistant at Marrakech Biennale 6 and as a Researcher with the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
She is also known for her contributions to arts education, having served as an Arabic and French Teacher at Chicago Public Schools and interned at the Department of Arts Education at Chicago Public Schools.
