Leila Sheldrick

Leila Sheldrick is a highly educated and experienced lecturer, consultant, and former design engineer, with a particular interest in sustainable product design. Sheldrick holds a PhD in sustainable product design processes from Loughborough University, where she also studied product design and manufacturing engineering, and later worked as a lecturer in product design engineering and university teacher in design and sustainability. Sheldrick has also worked as a managing director, project engineer, and design engineer at various organizations, including Nice Humans Design Ltd., Engineers Without Borders UK, and Triumph Motorcycles.

Currently, Sheldrick is a lecturer in design engineering at Imperial College London, where she shares her expertise in designing ubiquitous sustainability into product design processes. Additionally, Sheldrick has published research on sustainable engineering and served as managing editor for the International Journal of Sustainable Engineering.
