Lee Varis is a seasoned commercial imaging professional with over 40 years of experience, specializing in photo-illustration for print advertising in the entertainment industry.

With over 20 years in digital imaging, Varis has established himself as a world-renowned expert in Photoshop and digital photography.

He is a successful author, known for best-selling technical books like 'Skin: The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies' and 'Mastering Exposure and the Zone System for Digital Photography.'

Varis has shared his expertise globally through lectures and workshops for prestigious organizations such as Santa Fe Photo Workshops, Maine Media Workshops, Apple Computers, Adobe, PMA, ASMP, APA, and PPA.

His current focus is on transitioning to full-time teaching, training, and writing activities while creating multimedia training resources for both businesses and the general public.

His specialties encompass a wide range of photo digital imaging practices including photography, retouching, photo-illustration, special effects, motion capture, HDR imaging, color management consulting, color correcting, teaching, training, writing, and lecturing.

Varis pursued studies in Vancouver and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Motion Picture/Television from the University of California, Los Angeles.
