Lee Patterson

Lee Patterson MA(DEM), CPP, SAS-AP, is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in public order, anti-terrorism, and emergency management.

Currently serving as a Staff Sergeant at the Vancouver Police Department, Lee has a wealth of experience in policing, having worked in four cities across two countries.

Lee holds a Master's Degree in Disaster Emergency Management from Royal Roads University and is recognized as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International.

Additionally, he has obtained the Acrura Situation Awareness Specialist-Advanced Practitioner (SAS-AP) designation and is an advanced level Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioner.

As an accomplished professional, Lee is also a Sessional Instructor at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, where he imparts knowledge on security and emergency management topics to students both online and in person.

Furthermore, Lee has been actively involved in research groups such as the JIBC SIMTEC Group and the BC DVI Committee, contributing to advancements in the field of emergency management.

Having represented Canada as the Chief Search Coordinator for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and served as a public order tactical advisor during the Vancouver hockey riot in 2011, Lee has demonstrated exceptional leadership and tactical skills.

Lee's educational background includes studies in disaster emergency management, police officer training, business and communication, among others, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Through roles at various organizations including the Vancouver Police Department and West Midlands Police, Lee has honed his expertise in public safety, crime prevention, and emergency response.
