Design Lead at DISAGRO
Leandro M. Porras is an innovation strategist specializing in systemic design methods to enhance value creation within society, with a diverse background in the hospitality and financial industries across Western Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America.
With a rich educational background, Leandro holds a Master's in Service Design from Politecnico di Milano, specialized courses in customer-focused product and service design from Cornell University, and executive business administration from Universidad del Istmo, among others.
Throughout his career, Leandro has held various key roles such as Design Lead at DISAGRO, Design Lecturer at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and Founder of Quitapenas Innovación, and has contributed significantly to initiatives like Service Design Drinks, Service Jams, and Gov Jams both locally and internationally.
He is actively involved in academia as a Design courses instructor at the University Francisco Marroquin, a member of the local OpenIDEO Chapter in Guatemala City, and in leadership positions including the Singularity U Chapter of Guatemala.
In addition to his academic and organizational involvements, Leandro is a polyglot who has leveraged his diverse experiences to work as an independent consultant in areas of strategic design and innovation, integrating multi-disciplinary teams to drive meaningful change.
Leandro also holds a strong presence in the food design realm as the local representative of the Red Latinoamericana de Food Design for Guatemala, showcasing his versatility and passion for exploring innovative approaches within various industries.
