Lawrence Lam
Lawrence Lam is an innovative sport administrator and IT operations technician with a diverse background in materials engineering, student affairs, event management, swimming, and rugby sevens. With eight years of experience in project management and delivery, effective communication, and team building, and seven years in international sporting events, Lam has become a self-motivated advocate for sport accessibility and the power of sport for mental and societal shift. Lam studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music before earning a Bachelor's Degree at The University of British Columbia.
Lam has taken on various roles in organizations such as Operations Lead: Hawk-Eye North America and former Senior Systems Operator, Independent Consultant, Rugby Logistics Assistant, Hotel Tournament Office, Administrator at British Columbia Swim Coaches' Association, Manager and Assistant Coach, Team Manager, Director, and Regional Coordinator and Coach at different organizations. Additionally, Lam has gained experience as a Research Engineer at Composites Research Network, First Year Experience Student Coordinator, Residence Coordinator, and Senior Student Ambassador at UBC Centre for Student Involvement and Careers, and UBC Student Housing & Hospitality Services, and UBC International Student Initiative.
Lam is known for his proficiency in project management, IT operations, customer service, international event management and logistics, sports administration, and team management. He is also an active advocate for sport accessibility, mental health, and society empowerment through sports.
