Lauren Mandell is a distinguished international trade and investment attorney known for her expertise in negotiating free trade agreements, bilateral investment treaties, and resolving disputes related to such agreements. With a strong background in both the public and private sector, Lauren has made notable contributions to various trade negotiations and dispute resolutions.
During her time at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), Lauren served as the lead negotiator for the investment chapter of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and actively participated in several key trade negotiations spanning the Obama and Trump administrations. Her litigation experience includes successfully settling disputes through mechanisms such as World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement, investor-state dispute settlement, commercial arbitration, and US courts, showcasing her prowess in handling complex trade and investment issues, particularly those involving China.
Lauren Mandell pursued her education at prestigious institutions, earning a J.D. and an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law, and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. Her academic background laid a solid foundation for her successful legal career.
