Lauren Burdette

Lauren Burdette is an accomplished professional with a background in public policy analysis and education.

She holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Diplomatic History and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Lauren has held various roles in different organizations, showcasing her expertise and dedication to equity and education.

She currently serves as the Senior Equity Manager at the Office of Equity and Racial Justice in the City of Chicago.

Prior to her current position, Lauren was the Director of Engagement at The Chicago Public Education Fund and also served as the Manager of Policy & Communications at the same organization.

Her experience includes being the Managing Director of Education Policy at the Office of the Illinois Secretary of Education, where she played a crucial role in shaping education policies.

Lauren has also worked at the federal level as a Congressional Fellow at the Office of U.S. Senator Bob Casey and as a Domestic Policy Council Education Intern at The White House.

Her passion for education is evident in her work as a Graduate Student Instructor, teaching Calculus for Public Policy at The University of Michigan, and as a 7th Grade Math and Science Teacher at Pfc Omar E. Torres Charter School within the UNO Charter School Network.

Additionally, Lauren has contributed to various research projects as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan and as a Student Consultant at the Detroit Impact Club.

Her commitment to education equity led her to join Teach for America as a Chicago Corps Member, where she made a meaningful impact on students' lives.

During her early career, Lauren gained valuable experience working in legislative affairs as an Intern at Congressman Patrick Murphy's Office and also supported campaign efforts as an Intern for the Campaign of Patrick Murphy.
