Prior to her executive search career, Lauren dedicated years to academia, teaching at Queens College and presenting at conferences for esteemed organizations. Her experience spans positions at prestigious institutions like the New York Public Library, Bard College, Duke University, and more, with a focus on history, economics, and literature. She has also made meaningful contributions in LGBTQIA+ rights advocacy through writing an amicus brief.

Lauren's academic journey includes pursuing a Ph.D. in English with a focus on British literature, the Gothic, political economy, and critical theory.
