Laurel McCarthy, a North Carolina State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Minor in Statistics, is an experienced and innovative consultant who currently works for the MetLife Innovation Office as an Innovation Consultant. Prior to being employed full-time, she was an intern at MetLife's Internship Program (MTU), where she was chosen as a MetLife Technical University Ambassador for the NC State Campus. She is responsible for sourcing potential strategic capabilities for MetLife through scouting high-potential startup companies. Furthermore, she also updates and maintains Qlik Sense dashboards for internal and external use. McCarthy is a former undergraduate research assistant at The William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and has had previous experience as a crew leader at Bruster's Real Ice Cream and student job shadow at Alight Solutions.
