Laura Trout is a seasoned collegiate softball coach with more than 10 years of coaching experience. She is known for her passion in developing student-athletes and fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Currently, Laura holds the position of Associate Head Coach at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she oversees the offense, recruiting, and marketing of the softball program. She collaborates with a diverse and talented staff and roster to lead the team to success.
Throughout her career, Laura has contributed to multiple NCAA regional appearances, conference championships, and academic honors for the softball program at UIUC. Her dedication to the team's success has been instrumental in its growth.
Aside from her coaching roles, Laura Trout also brings a background in journalism to the table, enabling her to effectively and creatively communicate with various stakeholders such as media, fans, alumni, and donors. She values collaboration, innovation, and integrity in her work.
Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia and an Associate of Arts (AA) from Spartanburg Methodist College. Her educational background complements her coaching and communication skills, enhancing her ability to empower and inspire young women through sports at UIUC.
Throughout her career, Laura has held various coaching positions, including Associate Head Softball Coach and Assistant Softball Coach at UIUC, Assistant Softball Coach at The George Washington University, Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach at the University of South Carolina, and Student Coach at UGA Athletics.
