Laura Thompson

Laura Thompson is a Partner at Sapphire Partners, where she focuses on investing in technology-oriented venture funds both domestically and internationally. She has a strong commitment to enhancing transparency within the venture ecosystem, actively contributing to initiatives like OpenLP.com. In 2021, she was recognized as a VC Rising Star by Venture Capital Journal.

Before joining Sapphire Partners in 2018, Laura was part of the investment team at Horsley Bridge Partners, where she contributed to significant fund commitments. Her earlier experience includes roles at Capital E Partners and W Capital Partners, as well as completing an investment banking program at Banc of America Securities.

Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Psychology from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton School. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys outdoor activities and sports, particularly following local teams like the 49ers, Warriors, and Giants.123
