Laura Lombardi
Laura Lombardi is the Managing Director of Usha Martin Italia, which serves as the technical and R&D center for the Usha Martin Group, a global manufacturer of high-performance wire ropes.1 She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been involved with the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) since 2010.1 Lombardi became the vice chairperson of IMCA's Lifting & Rigging Management Committee (LRMC) in 2016 and was appointed chairperson in February 2021.1
In her role, Lombardi has been actively involved in organizing and chairing the IMCA Lifting and Rigging Seminar, an important industry event focusing on offshore lifting technology challenges, particularly in the renewable energy sector.13 She has emphasized the importance of addressing technical and operational challenges posed by increasingly heavier lifts in the offshore wind sector.1
Lombardi is also committed to promoting gender diversity in the workplace.
