Laura Gerhardt is an accomplished civic-minded technologist, open source software developer, and arctic code vault contributor. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Drama from Tufts University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley.
Laura has served in several roles throughout her career, including Deputy Director of login.gov at Technology Transformation Services (TTS), Acquisition Technical Lead, and Innovation Specialist at 18F, and Graduate Student Intern at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
As a Login.gov Analytics Lead, Laura leveraged quantitative analysis to improve login.gov's user engagement and conversion rates. Before transitioning to technology, Laura worked as an Emergency Preparedness Associate and Graphic Designer at Safety Planning Group L.L.C. and Institutional Development and Africa Programs Intern at The Hunger Project.
Laura is currently serving as an Engineering Supervisor at 18F, a civic consultancy for the U.S. federal government. She continues to contribute to the open-source community and remains dedicated to improving government technology and accessibility.
