Laura Diane is a Registered Nurse turned freelance writer and editor who specializes in developing resources for adult children of aging parents. When she took a leave of absence from nursing in 2011, she embarked on a new career path as a writer and editor. Laura's current project is a full-length book that explores the challenges faced by an aging population and how adult children can bridge the generation gap by engaging in meaningful conversations with their parents about finances, health care planning, aging, housing options, and end-of-life planning. In addition to her book, Laura has contributed to two "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books, and she posts a weekly blog on how to start a dialogue with aging parents to promote clarity, love, and understanding as they transition through different stages of life. With a background in nursing, case management, diabetic education and prevention, grant writing, and research, Laura brings a unique skillset to her work, and her experiences have helped her understand the triumphs and tragedies families experience as their parents age.
