Laura Dafov

Laura Dafov is a dedicated geologist working at bp America with a focus on driving positive impacts in the energy industry and building partnerships with communities locally and globally.

She is deeply committed to addressing energy challenges through innovative, efficient, and eco-conscious strategies to combat energy poverty and promote sustainable energy solutions.

Apart from her work in the energy sector, Laura is passionate about mental health advocacy, particularly supporting individuals with bipolar disorder through her nonprofit organization, More Than One Mind Inc.

Laura completed her PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences at Stanford University, focusing on computational modeling and global sensitivity analyses of energy systems and conducting pioneering research on natural gas hydrates. She was also a recipient of a Stanford graduate fellowship and a fellow of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Prior to her PhD, she graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she developed expertise in energy geological sciences, co-publishing research projects, leading student organizations, and winning awards for conference presentations.

Laura has a diverse professional background, including summer internships at bp America and ConocoPhillips, leadership roles in student organizations at Stanford University, and experience in corporate development at EARTH AI.

She holds a certificate in Business Management from Harvard Business School and has received numerous grants and scholarships from prestigious institutions like the American Geophysical Union, oil and gas companies, and the National Science Foundation.
