Laura Contin

Laura Contin is a senior engineer at Telecom Italia with a wealth of experience dating back to 1986 when she joined Telecom Italia's research center.

With a background in Mathematics from Università degli Studi di Torino, Laura has specialized in signal processing, audiovisual perception models, multimedia services, and telecommunication networks.

Her expertise has led her to actively engage in standardization activities at ITU and MPEG, taking on roles such as Chair of the Test Group at MPEG and Rapporteur at ITU-T.

Since 2010, Laura has been channeling her skills into the e-health and wellness sector, focusing on signal processing and communication technologies.

In this capacity, she has been at the forefront of developing innovative services utilizing wireless body sensor networks, creating proof of concepts and prototypes to drive advancements in this field.
