With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego and language studies at Beijing Language and Culture University, Laura has a diverse educational background to support her professional endeavors.

Laura Chao has an extensive career history that includes roles such as Head of Training & Development - HR Business Partner at Plethora, Head of Student Outcomes - Director of Career Services at App Academy, Head of HR at Alloy Product Development, Program Manager at One Million Lights, Solar Thermal Research & Development Engineer at Ausra Inc, Research and Development Engineer at D2Fusion, Fusion Power Plant Researcher at LBNL, and Physics/Engineering TA at UCSD.
