Larry Kochard

Larry Kochard is a prominent figure in the investment management industry, currently serving as the Co-Chief Investment Officer at Makena Capital Management. He boasts a rich professional background, having held key positions such as Chief Investment Officer at Makena, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer at the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO), and CIO at Georgetown University. Prior to his tenure at UVIMCO, Larry was the Managing Director of Equity and Hedge Fund Investments at the Virginia Retirement System. He also has a strong academic background, having taught at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. Larry's early career saw him excel in debt capital markets at Goldman Sachs and corporate finance at Fannie Mae and DuPont. Larry is a CFA Charterholder with a B.A. in Economics from the College of William & Mary, an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Rochester, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Virginia.
