Dr. Larry Heck is a renowned researcher and educator in the fields of electrical and computer engineering, with significant accomplishments spanning over three decades. He holds the Rhesa S. Farmer Distinguished Chair of Advanced Computing Concepts and is a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Heck has also held prominent positions in the tech industry, including Senior Vice President Research at Samsung Research America and Chief Scientist of Microsoft Speech products. He was a co-founder of Microsoft's Cortana personal assistant and has led groundbreaking work in the fields of natural language processing, deep learning, signal processing, acoustics, and more. Dr. Heck has published scientific papers, holds numerous patents, and received recognition for his contributions to the field of engineering, including the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech and the Distinguished Engineer Award from Texas Tech University.
