Larry Cohen is the Executive Director and co-founder of Point Source Youth, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness among youth. He has held this position since November 2016, building on his earlier experience as President of the organization from September 2015 to September 2017.12 Under his leadership, Point Source Youth has implemented several key interventions aimed at addressing youth homelessness, including family reconnection, short-term host homes, and rapid rehousing initiatives.12
Background and Experience
Before founding Point Source Youth, Cohen co-founded Heartbeat Experts, a software company that connected scientific researchers with the healthcare industry. This company was later sold and is now part of IBM Watson.2 His career in healthcare spans over 25 years, beginning with his role at the National AIDS Treatment Advocacy Project, where he was involved in pivotal advocacy efforts during the AIDS crisis in the 1990s.23
Cohen holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, which he earned between 1991 and 1994.12
