Lara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Additionally, she has taken relevant courses in the MSIS program at George Mason University.

Lara has held various leadership positions in the tech industry, including as the Vice President of Cloud Pharmacy at Blink Health, Partner Software Engineering Group Manager for Azure Storage, Media, and Edge at Microsoft, and BizTech Leader for Amazon Business at Amazon. She has also worked as a Senior Manager for Amazon Go and the Retail Subsidiary Integration team, Principal Technical Program Manager for Retail Systems, and Principal Program Manager Lead for Windows and Windows Live at Amazon and Microsoft, respectively. Before that, Lara served as a Senior Technologist - Network Security at Lante Corporation and a Senior Infosec Engineer at MITRE Corporation.
