Lara Pierpoint

Lara Pierpoint is a dedicated professional with a strong passion for technologies aimed at reducing carbon emissions and fostering a cleaner environment. Currently at Actuate, Lara focuses on designing and implementing programs to accelerate the adoption of emissions-reducing technologies, exploring innovative methods to expedite the demonstration, deployment, and scaling of climate change mitigation systems.

Lara's educational background includes a PhD in Engineering Systems, an S.M. in Nuclear Engineering, and an S.M. in Technology and Policy, all from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Additionally, she holds a B.S. in Physics from UCLA.

Throughout her career, Lara Pierpoint has held prominent roles in various organizations, such as Managing Director at Trellis Climate, CEO at Actuate Climate, Director at Actuate, Director of Technology Strategy at Exelon, Senior Fundamental Program Strategy Manager at Exelon, Senior Advisor for Energy Policy and Systems Analysis at the U.S. Department of Energy, AAAS Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow at the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources, as well as various research and assistant positions at MIT.
