Lanie Anderson

Lainie Anderson is a writer and journalist based in Adelaide, Australia. She was a columnist for Adelaide's Sunday Mail for 17 years, from 2006 to 2023.2 Prior to that, she worked as a journalist at the Herald Sun in Melbourne and The Times.1
In recent years, Anderson has focused on historical writing and research. She was named Emerging Historian of the Year by the History Council of South Australia in mid-2023 for her work on the Vickers Vimy aircraft. She has also joined the executive committee of the History Council.2
Anderson has authored a book about the 1919 Great Air Race and has given numerous talks on this subject. She has also worked on freelance writing projects, including a social history of Wynns Coonawarra Estate vineyards.2
In addition to her writing career, Anderson is involved in various community roles. She serves on the board of Reconciliation SA, is on the executive committee of the History Council of SA, and is part of the SA selection committee for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. She is also an ambassador for the Hutt St Centre.2
