Lance Phillip

Lance Phillip is a Lecturer in Music at the Odeion School of Music at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He specializes in Choral Studies, Composition, and Musicology, and is actively involved in conducting the Odeion Choir as well as teaching various music courses, including composition and choral conducting.123

Born in Durban in 1973, Phillip began his musical training early, having been a chorister at the St Thomas Choir School from 1983 to 1986. He has since built a diverse career as a composer, conductor, and educator, contributing significantly to the music community in South Africa.5 In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Director of Music at Bloemfontein's Cathedral, further showcasing his commitment to music and education.24
