Lance Phillip

Lance Phillip is a highly educated and experienced musician with a diverse background in music education and conducting.
His academic journey includes studying NSC at Gandhi Desai High School before pursuing a BMus (Hons) in Music with a focus on Composition, where his principal instrument was singing (tenor) and his secondary instrument was piano at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria.
Furthering his education, Lance obtained an MMus in Music specializing in Choral Conducting from the University of the Free State/Universiteit van die Vrystaat and also studied at the prestigious St Thomas Choir School in New York.
Professionally, Lance has held various important roles in music institutions, such as being a Lecturer in Music at the University of the Free State, Director of Music at the Bloemfontein Anglican Cathedral, and a Junior Lecturer in Music at the same university.
Additionally, he has served as a Conductor for the University of Pretoria Symphony Orchestra, a Music Teacher at St Alban's College in Pretoria, an Assistant Director of Music at Christ Church in Arcadia (Pretoria), a Music Teacher at St Mary's DSG in Pretoria, and the Founder & Conductor of the Ars Nova Consort.
