Lance Keene is the founder and CEO of Keene Systems, Inc., a 36-year-old software consulting firm specializing in web application development primarily using Microsoft technologies like ASP.NET, .NET Core, and SQL Server.123 He founded the company in 1987 while studying computer science at Florida Institute of Technology.23

Keene Systems has developed custom software solutions for a wide range of clients, including IBM, Dana Farber, National Geographic, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Healthcare, Calvin Klein, Hershey, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, CVS, and many more.1 The company focuses on creating powerful web and mobile technologies that increase efficiency, profitability, and improve manual processes and management of complex operations for its clients.1

Prior to founding Keene Systems, Keene served as a 74F Programmer/Analyst in the US Army, stationed in Schwetzingen, Germany, where he worked with IBM mainframes.2 He has also co-founded other companies, including Cybex Corp., an industrial robotics firm, and The Sarbrook Co. Inc., a software company catering to the packaging industry.2

In addition to his work at Keene Systems, Keene is a climate change activist and has been working on a lifelong art project: building an off-the-grid medieval stone castle in the White Mountains of New Hampshire called Keene Castle.35 He practices Uechi Ryu karate and holds a 2nd degree black belt.24

Keene speaks English, Spanish, German, and French, and has attended several schools, including Florida Institute of Technology, where he earned a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Business.24
