Kurt O'Brien, CCIM, CPM, is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in investing, developing, and operating self-storage assets.

As the Founder and CEO of Simply Self Storage, the largest private self-storage company, Kurt has overseen the operation of up to 240 assets, with over 7 billion dollars in transactions as a general partner.

Throughout his career, Kurt has partnered with notable institutions like Brookfield, Oaktree, Paragon, GE Capital, and Castle Hill, delivering impressive investor returns ranging from 30% to 42% IRR.

His expertise extends beyond real estate investment as he actively invests in entrepreneurial businesses and generously supports charities like Charity Water and Timothy Initiatives.

Kurt's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Real Estate Development with a perfect 4.0 GPA from Auburn University, as well as certifications in Certified Property Manager (CPM) from IREM and Real Estate from CCIM.

Additionally, he holds a BS in Business from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business.

Kurt's career spans various roles and organizations, including being the Founder of Frigatebird Investments, Former Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at Auburn University, and Former President at numerous companies like My Place Self Storage, OB Management Services, Inc., and The Holding Company.
