He pursued his academic endeavors at prestigious institutions, including Yale University where he studied for his Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree and St. Olaf College where he completed his Bachelor's degree in Religion/Religious Studies.

With a wealth of experience in the field, Kurt has held prominent positions in various organizations. He currently serves as the Director of Religious & Spiritual Life at Bucknell University, bringing his expertise in chaplaincy and spiritual well-being to the campus community.

Prior to his role at Bucknell University, Kurt Nelson served as the Dean of Religious & Spiritual Life at Colby College, further showcasing his leadership and commitment to fostering spiritual growth among students.

His professional journey also includes a significant tenure as an Assistant Chaplain at Dartmouth College, where he provided support and guidance to individuals navigating their spiritual beliefs and practices.
