    Kübra Akbaş is a second-year PhD candidate at the joint Biomedical Engineering program of NJIT and Rutgers University. She specializes in controls for bipedal locomotion and gait analysis for humans and robots. Her interests also extend to computer science, energetics, and fluid mechanics, with additional curiosity in psychology, linguistics, and cultural history.

    Her educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechatronics and Robotics from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. Kübra also pursued studies in Liberal Arts and Sciences at New York University and completed her PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Rutgers University.

    Throughout her academic journey, Kübra has been actively involved in various organizations. She has served as a Research Assistant at NJIT and held positions at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, including Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Controls Engineer, and President of the Performing Arts Club. Additionally, Kübra has contributed as an Instructor at Girls Who Code, an Energy Engineering Intern at Doosan Power Systems, a Physics Tutor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and an Usher at Bordentown Regional Schools.
