I work to ensure we have ample high-quality content that will engage and educate the people who already know us, help our marketing team reach new people, and help our sales team convince the people they talk with that they should be customers.Here are a few of the highlights of what I'm up to:• Constantly looking for new content ideas (for everything from blog posts to ebooks and videos) to help our organic traffic and lead generation efforts, and vetting them for how efficiently we could create them and how effective we think they will be.• Managing the creation of content, from working with the writer or content creator (which could be a coworker, freelancer or me) to subject matter expert reviews, editing, ensuring the design works well, and publishing it.• Working with our DemandGen team to choose the most effective channels and ways to promote each piece of content, and then writing the various bits of copy for those promotions.• Analyzing which content is performing well, and adjusting our plan and priorities accordingly.• Managing our social media accounts and strategy (until we hired a social media manager in April 2017).• Editing various public-facing content for consistency, style, voice and tone, and to ensure accuracy.

As the developer marketing coordinator, I focused on digital marketing for Esri's developer products. This included planning and writing various blog posts, social media posts, email campaigns, and content for web pages and print materials. I worked in one of Esri's R&D centers, which was created when Esri acquired the Portland startup Geoloqi.

Product Marketing Coordinator - Developer Products

As the elected marketing chair volunteer on the board of directors, I led our marketing efforts to promote SEMpdx's monthly educational events on various topics related to search engine marketing. I focused on social media (primarily tweets and Facebook promoted posts) and emails to members and people who had attended a related previous event of ours. I also helped promote SEMpdx's yearly SearchFest (now called Engage) conference and Rooftop Networking Party.

After several years as a marketing & community manager I was promoted at AboutUs, a small technology startup that was acquired in 2014 and briefly changed its name to Jyte after I left. As a senior marketing manager and our longest-standing employee, I was proactively engaged in many areas:• Defining our marketing goals and crafting a multi-channel strategy to reach or exceed them.• Writing informative blog posts about digital marketing, SEO and social media to demonstrate our expertise and softly convince people to do business with us. (See <a href="http://kristinaweis.com/portfolio">kristinaweis.com/portfolio</a> for links to some of them.)• Sending targeted and carefully-planned emails to custom segments of our very large opt-in email list.• Growing our social media reach and engagement on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, taking each from 0 to more than 6,000, 4,800 and 500 respectively.• Helping our client representatives help their clients with social media and digital marketing strategy.• Working with our developers to address bugs and share product feedback for our SEO audit and social media analytics tools.• Analyzing our Google Analytics and results, and planning changes to our website and marketing efforts to move the needle.• Regularly using my HTML/CSS skills to edit the content, layout and design of our websites. I am very familiar with WordPress, and I can also edit website content the way our software developers do for our other custom site: using the command line, editing HTML, CSS and Haml code in TextMate, and committing changes via GitHub.• As a member of management team, I actively participated in many discussions and decisions about our business model, financials, target customer, employee management and the future of our products and services.Prior to my Director of Marketing position, I worked for AboutUs as Marketing & Community Manager (see below).

As the marketing & community manager at AboutUs, I happily wore many hats:• Writing articles and blog posts about SEO and social media marketing to promote our SEO audit and social media analytics tools. I was a copy editor and writer for The Independent newspaper. I edited articles as the primary defense against confusing sentences, misspelled words, grammatical mistakes and inconsistent use of AP Style.
