Kristen Nicole

Kristen M. Nicole is a versatile professional known for her work in humanitarian efforts, environmental activism, energy entrepreneurship, and sustainable design, particularly specializing in solar energy and grid integration of renewables.

With a background encompassing national grid integration research, development, and energy policy, she has been involved in various significant projects related to solar PV codes, high penetration solar PV in distribution systems, advanced power electronics technologies, solar resource characterization, and utility-scale solar project impacts on transmission system planning and operations.

Ms. Nicole has a rich professional repertoire, having worked with reputable organizations such as Dividend Finance, EnterSolar, Gridco Systems, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Sentech, and the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Program.

Her international experience includes collaborations with utilities, regulatory bodies, and public-private partnerships focusing on industrial regulation, utility management, and sectors like energy, water, telecommunications, and transportation. She has also served in roles at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, the U.S. Department of Energy EIA, and the U.S. Peace Corps in Bangladesh.

A distinguished academic, Ms. Nicole holds an MBA in Accounting and Strategic Management from George Washington University, and a BA in International Relations with a concentration in International Economics and Business from Boston University.

She is actively engaged in professional organizations, holding the title of Senior Member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society, serving on the Board of Directors of NABCEP, and acting as the Executive Director of Women in Solar Energy (WISE), a non-profit organization aimed at enhancing female participation in the solar industry. Additionally, she represents the International School of Beijing (ISB) as an alumni representative in Beijing, China.
