Kristen Duncan
Assistant Professor
Dr. Kristen E. Duncan is an Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education at Clemson University.34 She joined Clemson in June 2018 after previously serving as an Assistant Professor at Texas State University from 2016 to 2018.4 Dr. Duncan holds a Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice from the University of Georgia, which she completed in 2016.14
Her research focuses on how Black teachers discuss race with their students, the resistance they may face as a result, and the presence or absence of race in educational texts and historic sites.2 Dr. Duncan is a former middle school social studies teacher and elementary school instructional coach.12
