Krishna Ratakonda

Krishna Ratakonda, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Financial Services Cloud at IBM, spearheads the development of solutions that streamline running intricate and highly regulated workloads on the public cloud.

With a robust background in crafting cloud-centric machine learning and cognitive applications to enhance business decision-making, Krishna has led the design and execution of significant blockchain networks within the finance and supply-chain realms.

Notably, Krishna has overseen the development of renowned blockchain solutions such as IBM Food Trust, Trade-lens, and FarmerConnect, aimed at ensuring security and innovation across the food supply chain, container shipping, and coffee trading sectors respectively.

Having been designated an IBM Fellow in 2014, Krishna has garnered numerous accolades, including awards for best paper, best graduate research, and corporate recognition for his profound business and technical contributions.

Krishna holds a remarkable academic record with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering specializing in signal processing and computer vision from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, complemented by a Master's in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering.

His research endeavors have resulted in the publication of over 70 papers and the acquisition of more than 60 patents, showcasing his prolific contributions to the tech and innovation landscape.
