Kirsten Gelsdorf

Kirsten Gelsdorf is a distinguished professional with vast experience and expertise in the field of humanitarian affairs, policy analysis, and global challenges.

She holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) with a focus on Humanitarian Affairs and Food Security from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Kirsten also pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Environmental Affairs/History-Asian Studies from Dartmouth College and holds a Certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Nairobi.

Throughout her career, Kirsten has held key positions in notable organizations, including being the former Professor of Practice and Director of Global Humanitarian Policy at the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

Her contributions extend to her roles at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), where she served as the Chief of Policy Analysis and Innovation, Head of Advocacy and Visual Media Unit, Head of the Global Challenges Unit, Humanitarian Policy Advisor, and Humanitarian Affairs Officer.

Prior to her tenure at OCHA, Kirsten Gelsdorf served as a Programme Associate at UN Women.
