Prior to her current position, Kim Pate was instrumental in establishing the Native CDFI Network, an association dedicated to supporting Native community development financial institutions in South Dakota, advocating for financial access in Native communities.
Throughout her career, Kim Pate has held key roles in organizations like Prosperity Now (formerly CFED) in Washington, DC, where she managed initiatives in small business development, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
Apart from her professional engagements, Kim Pate's commitment to the Indigenous community is evident through her board memberships, including the Acoma Pueblo Museum Board of Directors and the Nimiipuu Community Development Fund Board of Directors, both platforms for fostering Indigenous art, culture, and entrepreneurship.
Kim Pate's educational background includes a Law Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University, underpinning her expertise in legal matters and political affairs.
