Khoa Luu
Dr. Khoa Luu is a highly accomplished individual who currently serves as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the CSCE Department at the University of Arkansas. With an impressive academic background, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and was also a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Luu holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Computer Science from Concordia University and the University of Natural Science in Vietnam, respectively.
During his tenure as the Research Project Director at the Cylab Biometrics Center at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Luu led biometric initiatives and engaged with graduate students and research scholars to develop advanced biometric and computer vision systems. He has been recognized for his exceptional academic achievements, being the valedictorian of the joint Faculty of Engineering & Computer Science and Faculty of Fine Arts convocation ceremony at Concordia University in 2014. His professional contributions have extended to over 80 papers, including publications in renowned conferences and journals. Dr. Luu has been honored with two best paper awards at the IEEE International Conference on Biometrics: Theory, Applications and Systems (BTAS) in Washington DC in 2011 and 2012. Additionally, he has filed for a patent and has other pending applications in progress.
