Khadijah Abdullah

Khadijah Abdullah, MPH, is a highly accomplished public health professional with over a decade of extensive experience in various areas including nonprofit management, grant management, program and project management, public speaking, event planning, and advocacy. With a particular focus on women's rights and public policy, Khadijah has made a significant impact on social justice and global health causes throughout her career. Her passion for public health is evident in her dedication to improving community health outcomes and advocating for marginalized populations. Born with an insatiable curiosity, Khadijah has traveled extensively to speak at United Nations events, where she has collaborated with high-level UN officials and stakeholders to organize impactful health-related events that address global issues.
Khadijah's educational background is foundational to her successful career. She began her studies in nursing and Spanish at The University of Connecticut, where she developed a strong understanding of healthcare dynamics and cultural competence in patient care. She continued her education at Southern Connecticut State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. This combination of training and formal education empowers Khadijah to approach public health challenges with a holistic perspective that balances healthcare practices and social determinants of health.
Throughout her career, Khadijah has held prominent positions in various nonprofit organizations, showcasing her leadership and management skills. She serves as a Faith Ambassador for the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) and the COVID-19 Prevention Network (CoVPN) at Fred Hutch, where she uses her expertise to advocate for HIV prevention strategies and COVID-19 health education within faith-based communities. Khadijah's previous role as Chief Entertainment Officer at Playtime Event Sitters allowed her to leverage her organizational capabilities while bringing joy and support to families in need of childcare services during events.
As the founder and Executive Director of RAHMA, Khadijah led initiatives designed to strengthen community outreach and awareness about HIV/AIDS, particularly within communities of faith. Her work was instrumental in establishing National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a groundbreaking initiative designed to engage religious leaders and congregations in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Additionally, she has made significant contributions as an Influencer and Special Projects Manager at LaunchGood, where she supported innovative fundraising efforts to advance social causes.
Khadijah’s professional journey has also included roles in government relations and public policy, such as her internship at the National Minority AIDS Council. Her experience as a Community Health Worker at the Institute for Public Health Innovation and as a Community Empowerment Coordinator with AmeriCorps further underscore her commitment to grassroots mobilization and community health improvement.
