With revenues in excess of $50 million and growing, I-CAR is poised to become a major global player in education and training recognition. 

Responsible for all accounting, finance, tax, M&A, human resources, legal, real estate, investment and operations planning activities.

•	Identified weaknesses and implemented improvements to the organization’s budget process. Significantly reduced budget preparation timeline while increasing effectiveness/accuracy of budget resulting in a 13% increase in revenue and a 2.5% reduction in material spend.
•	Drove cost management initiatives related to personnel and material expenses leading to lower annual reduction of more than $3 million.
•	Implemented new integrated sales and capacity planning process leading to improved sales forecasting which drove higher revenue and operating profit. 
•	Managed development of 10-year strategic planning model to project future revenue and profit targets.

I-CAR

Vice President Finance/CFO

Westminster College is a privately-held non-profit college located in Fulton, MO.  I was hired by the Board of Trustees to develop a strategic plan and business model to put the college on the path to long-term sustainability.

As CFO/COO for the college I was responsible for all accounting, finance, treasury, risk management, investment, HR, IT and support operations to include enrollment (sales) and facilities.   Reporting to the President of the college I was a key member of the senior management team.  

•	Renegotiated college’s line of credit facility with the bank to release funds for operating cash needs and to obtain better terms. Identified and secured assets sufficient to post as collateral for the line of credit.  
•	Redesigned annual operating budget to improve accuracy and to reduce expenses.  Improved budget process resulting in lower operating expenses and increased total enrollment.
•	Drove development of strategic plan and business model to allow college to achieve long-term financial sustainability.    
•	Restructured enrollment services department to increase new student enrollments by 15%, reduced staff turnover and increased student retention.   Recruited and hired new Vice President, Enrollment Services.   
•	Reduced employee benefits expenses by 2% via renegotiation of rates/plans with benefits brokerage firm.
•	Reorganized IT department to reduce staff and overall IT operating expenses.
•	Analyzed endowment accounts and implemented process to allow college to remain within its debt service covenants.
•	Reduced custodial maintenance costs by $150K through outsourcing internal services.
•	Led introduction of online degree programs at the college.  Identified and engaged Online Program Management firm to assist college in development and delivery of online degree programs.  Projected new revenue of $800K by fall 2020.
•	Finance deferred maintenance and IT capital expenditures via lease program reducing cash outflows per year by $300K.

TCS Education System is a $150 million privately owned non-profit higher education organization operating five independent non-profit institutions with more than 500 employees and 8 locations throughout the United States.  

As Chief Financial Officer  |  VP, Corporate Development, I reported to the President | CEO and was a key member of the operating committee and of finance, audit and investments Board of Trustees’ -committees.  Responsible for strategic direction and leadership of a staff of 28.  Direct reports included Controller, Treasury Director and Senior Director, FP&A.  Key indirect reports included CFO  |  VP, Finance of each member school.  Accountable for all accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, treasury, risk management, corporate development, real estate, credit and regulatory functions.

•	Reduced annual interest payments by more than $500K by restructuring and eliminating $10 million of long-term debt
•	Improved cash flow by implementing treasury management software enabling company to consolidate all bank/investment accounts
•	Lowered overall operating costs 10% by eliminating redundant staffing at colleges, and by     creating a more accurate annual budget process
•	Led strategy/M&A process representing almost 30% of core business revenue

Rydin Decal is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial printed material as well as SaaS products comprising 80 employees in two locations.   The company served customers in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

As the CFO  | VP, Finance I reported to the President  | CEO and was a key member of the senior executive committee.  I was responsible for management of a staff of 7 direct reports including the Controller.  I led all accounting, strategic planning, finance, HR, IT, corporate development, treasury, credit, and risk management functions.  I served as strategic advisor to family board of directors.

•	Developed a comprehensive plan to increase sales by 50% over three years involving innovative sales initiatives, M&A, and restructuring of staff and support services
•	Successfully negotiated extension and increase of letter of credit facility allowing business to invest in growth initiatives
•	Organized new product development committee which, through collaborative efforts, resulted in the plan to launch two new products within 18 months

Adtalem Global Education (ATGE) [formerly DeVry Inc.] is a $2 billion public global education company operating several education institutions such as Chamberlain College of Nursing, Becker Professional Education, Ross School of Medicine, American University of the Caribbean and DeVry Brasil.  The company offers degrees at the Associates, Bachelors, Masters, PhD and Doctorate levels in many disciplines including health care, nursing and physician as well MBA.  The company also offers professional certification preparation and training for the CPA, CFA and CFE licenses.  The company employs more than 4,000 people with over 100 locations within the US, Canada and Brazil.  

As Senior Director, Finance (Divisional CFO), I reported to the President, Online Education and was a key member of the senior management team.  Accountable for all finance, accounting, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), audit, regulatory, strategic planning and student finance functions which included 7 direct reports and a total staff of more than 300 employees. Served as both divisional CFO and Director, Operations.  In my role as Director, Corporate Development, I reported to the SVP, Corporate Development and was responsible for all market research, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, purchase agreement negotiations, financing and integration activities for all DeVry institutions.  	

•	Reorganized shared services operations department to reduce staff redundancies resulting in annual labor savings of $700,000 while increasing customer service and employee engagement.
•	Instituted workplace improvements which reduced annual staff turnover by more than 10% equating to more than $600,000 in recruiting and productivity savings.
•	Redesigned corporate due diligence process for US and international acquisitions by streamlining the review process reducing time/cost spent on due diligence activities by more than $300K.

Insignis is a private-equity owned $15 million SaaS company providing applications for the options trading industry.  The company focuses on software development and sales and has a staff of 30 employees at its Chicago office.

As the VP, Finance, I reported to the President and was a key member of operating executive committee and of finance and audit Board of Director’s committees.  Accountable for all accounting, finance, tax, audit, HR, IT, administration and payroll functions with a staff of 2 direct reports.  

•	Reduced monthly cash outflows by $150K by establishing new banking/cash management process and delayed a second equity tranche from the firm’s sponsors.

GATX's primary activities consist of railcar operating leasing in North America and Europe. It ranks as number two in the rail lease arket behind GE Rail Services.  The company employees more than 2,500 people and operates multiple lease and repair facilities in the US, Canada and Europe.

As the Manager, International Finance, I reported to the SVP, Finance and led research, due diligence and acquisitions for projects in Europe, Mexico and South America.
