Kenneth Chomba is a highly experienced professional with a remarkable background in volunteer engagement, youth empowerment, communications, and strategy implementation.
In October 2018, he commenced his journey with the Global Volunteer initiative at UNICEF headquarters in New York, where he took charge of communications and played a pivotal role in establishing a global community of practice. By the end of 2019, the initiative had engaged with practitioners in 35 countries.
Prior to this, in January 2018, Kenneth launched the Ashoka Africa youth years strategy and initiated the first Ashoka East Africa cohort of young changemakers, overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda.
His involvement in shaping impactful strategies is evident from his role as the Africa Hub lead on strategy at Rhize in January 2017. Here, he successfully established a cohort of highly skilled activists spanning 8 countries, showcasing his ability to mobilize and manage diverse teams effectively.
Kenneth's professional journey also includes his co-founding of Tatua Kenya in November 2010, where he served as the Executive Director and Team Lead, managing programs and operational activities. His role at Tatua Kenya evolved over time, from Field Manager to Program Manager, demonstrating his commitment to driving organizational growth and impact.
Alongside his organizational roles, Kenneth has been actively involved in culture and change management projects with corporates and SMEs since 2015, exhibiting his versatility and expertise in implementing transformation initiatives.
Kenneth Chomba's educational background is as diverse as his professional experience. He pursued studies in Accounting at Strathmore University and obtained a postgraduate certificate in Social Innovation Management from The Amani Institute.
Additionally, Kenneth honed his skills in campaign strategy design through a Campaign Accelerator program on effective campaign strategies at Mobilisation Labs. His continuous pursuit of knowledge is reflected in his participation in training programs such as Trainers 2.0.
