Ken Simons

Ken Simons is a prominent figure in medical education and accreditation. He currently serves as a Board Member of the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA), having been appointed in 2022 by U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona for a five-year term.12
In addition to his role at NCFMEA, Simons is the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the Designated Institutional Official at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). In this capacity, he oversees 90 ACGME-accredited programs.34 His expertise also extends to competency-based medical education, which is a critical strategy in training future physicians.5
Simons has a significant background in medical education and has held various leadership positions, including being involved with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I) and serving on the boards of several medical organizations.6
