Ken McDonald

Ken McDonald is a seasoned technologist, instructor, and founder of Generation Tech. He excels in delivering technical strategies and leadership to enhance client operations, optimize efficiency, and advance processes. Ken is known for his inspirational leadership style and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for varying audiences.

As the founder of Generation Tech, Ken oversees all facets of the rapidly expanding technology services company. His expertise lies in IT infrastructure design, private and public cloud services, and cultivating a customer-centric organizational culture. The company's clientele spans a wide range of industries including entertainment media, commercial real estate, manufacturing, engineering, and patents.

Before establishing Generation Tech, Ken served as the Systems Support Manager for DENSO Europe in the Netherlands. In this role, he managed the company's 24/7 operations support, approved IT implementations, collaborated with leadership across 12 countries, facilitated planning meetings, and held decision-making authority on the Change Advisory Board.

With a diverse career background, Ken has held various IT consulting, executive, and leadership positions. He also has military experience as an Avionics Guidance and Control Specialist for the U.S. Air Force and Tennessee Air National Guard. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE) and multiple IT industry certifications.

Ken's educational journey includes studying Computer Science Principles, Advanced Placement at Code.org, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, acquiring a Full Stack Web Development Certification in Computer Software Engineering from freeCodeCamp, and completing a course in Kotlin Android Development in Computer Software Engineering from Udacity.

Throughout his career, Ken has been associated with various organizations such as Generation Tech, where he currently works as a Technologist. He has previously held roles like Director of IT / AP Computer Science at a Private High School, Unit Commander at McGhee-Tyson Composite Squadron in the Civil Air Patrol, Director of Information Technology at Tennessee Wing in the Civil Air Patrol, Systems Support Manager at DENSO Europe, and Director of IT Services / Senior Engineer / Security Expert at Consulting and Resellers Firms.
