Dr. Ken L. Harris, Ph.D., is a well-known personality dedicated to addressing social and economic challenges within the global Black community.
Descended from the Mafa people in Cameroon and with ancestry from lower Kemet (Egypt), Dr. Harris was born and raised in Detroit, MI, and currently resides in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, GA.
He currently serves as the 16th President/CEO of The National Business League, the oldest trade association for Black businesses in America, representing over 3.2 million Black-owned businesses nationally and internationally.
Throughout his career, Dr. Harris has received numerous prestigious awards, including the U.S. Small Business Association 2007 Minority Business Advocate of the Year and being named in Crain's Detroit Business's 40 Under 40 Class of 2007.
He has been recognized for his contributions with accolades such as the 2008 Excellence Award for Economic Empowerment by 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit, Inc., the 2017 National Veterans Supplier Diversity Council Leadership Award, and more.
Dr. Harris is a highly educated individual, holding a Ph.D. from Michigan State University with specializations in African American and African Studies, Economics, and Entrepreneurship.
His educational journey includes degrees from Wayne State University, Clark Atlanta University, and various prep schools and colleges.
Having served in leadership roles in multiple organizations like The National Business League, Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce, Inc., and the City of Detroit, Dr. Harris has made significant impacts in various sectors.
With a strong background in counseling psychology and educational leadership, he is a versatile professional with a keen focus on community development and empowerment.
