Kelly Williams is a productive and experienced mechanical design engineer who has worked on a variety of successful products in the tech industry. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, Kelly has been granted five US patents for her designs. She is highly skilled in CAD software including SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, Creo 2, Siemens (UG) NX, SDRC-iDeas, and AutoCAD, as well as Agile PLM software and SolidWorks PDM.
Kelly's expertise lies in designing all mechanical components of disk drives, from initial concept to mass production. She has designed baseplate assemblies, voice coil motors, head stack assemblies, flex circuits, actuators, pivot-bearings, covers, and other components for both desktop and notebook markets. She has also designed tooling to build products and has experience with very aggressive schedules to bring products to market quickly.
In addition to disk drives, Kelly has experience designing castings (die, investment, sand, and rubber mold), machining's, plastic injection moldings, sheet metal stampings/bending, flex circuits, metal injection moldings, fine blankings, extrusions, plastic over-molds, and more. She is comfortable with GDT and is highly experienced with designing for mass production.
