Kay Wiebrands

Kay Wiebrands is a highly accomplished professional with a strong educational background. She holds a Master's degree in Cancer Genomics & Developmental Biology, graduating Cum Laude with a perfect GPA of 4.0 from Utrecht University. Additionally, she also completed her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Utrecht University.

With an impressive career trajectory, Kay currently holds the position of Senior Field Application Specialist for Genomics & Diagnostic Solutions at Cytiva. Prior to this role, she served as the Strategic Product Manager - NGS at Oxford Gene Technology, showcasing her expertise in the genomics field. Earlier in her career, Kay gained valuable experience working as an Interim Product Support Scientist and a Technical Applications Scientist at Illumina.

Before transitioning to the industry, Kay Wiebrands established herself in the academic realm. She served as a Locum Associate Editor at Nature Protocols at Springer Nature, showcasing her editorial skills and knowledge in life sciences. Prior to this, she conducted research as a Postdoc at the Hubrecht Institute, focusing on Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research.

Kay's academic journey includes pursuing her PhD in Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research, first at the Hubrecht Institute where she successfully defended her dissertation and later at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
