Katrina Channells is a renowned director and co-founder of the production company We Are Yarn. With a strong background in film and television, Katrina has led multiple successful projects across various mediums.

One of Katrina's notable achievements is the feature documentary 'Leaving Allen Street' which premiered on ABC in 2021. The documentary garnered attention at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival and received the prestigious 'Audience Choice Award'.

Katrina Channells' expertise expands into the realm of Virtual Reality with the captivating series 'Speak of Country/Yuin Djama Dhugan'. This immersive experience, developed in collaboration with Yuin Nation storytellers, has been recognized as a finalist at Cinequest 2022 in Silicon Valley. Furthermore, the VR series was showcased at esteemed venues such as Sydney Carriageworks and Melbourne Museum.

In addition to her documentary and VR ventures, Katrina has made a significant impact with her series 'Stingray Sisters', which has been lauded internationally, screening in cities like Vancouver, London, Glasgow, and Iceland. This series was also made available on SBS OnDemand and NITV, reaching a wide audience.

As a versatile filmmaker, Katrina Channells has showcased her talents in short films as well. Her creation 'Unsettled' secured the title of Best Foreign short at the Hollywood Women's Film Institute and received a silver Australian Cinematography Society award. 'Milly', another narrative short film directed and produced by her, has gained recognition at festivals like the Melbourne Women's Film Festival and the Garifuna International Indigenous Film Festival.

Katrina Channells pursued her passion for film by studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Throughout her career, she has held various key positions at distinguished organizations, such as Director at Yarn, Editor & Assistant Editor at Daybreak Films, Assistant Editor at The Butchery Film Editing Services, Producer/Production Manager at Jetzak Productions, Assistant Editor at Jonathan M Shiff productions working on 'Elephant Princess', and Production roles at Carbon Media in Brisbane.
