Katie Wilde

Katie Wilde is the Head of Digital Research Services at the University of Aberdeen, where she plays a crucial role in supporting researchers with their digital needs. She oversees three key teams: the High Performance Computing Centre, the Digital Research Specialists, and the Grampian Data Safe Haven (DaSH) Team. Her work involves ensuring that researchers have access to the necessary resources and expertise for data management, high-performance computing, and health data science initiatives.12
Wilde has a strong academic background, holding a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Exeter. She began her career at the University of Aberdeen in 2007 as a Graduate Trainee Analyst and has since progressed through various roles, demonstrating significant expertise in data management for research purposes.12 In April 2023, she was appointed Co-Director of HDR UK Scotland, further enhancing her influence in health data research across Scotland.12
In addition to her leadership roles, Katie is also the Director of the Grampian Data Safe Haven, which is one of five Trusted Research Environments in Scotland. Under her direction, DaSH has achieved ISO27001 certification, ensuring compliance with information security standards.12 She holds an honorary contract with NHS Grampian and collaborates on numerous health informatics projects, contributing to over 500 initiatives in this field.12
Outside of her professional commitments, Katie enjoys leading exercise classes and participating in rowing with the Collieston Offshore Rowing Club.1
